The UMC's quickly became a household name. They were the first rap group out of Staten Island to chart Billboard with two No. 1 hit records, and the first rap group out of Staten Island to appear and perform on Soul Train. Let's not forget 'Fruits of Nature' album poster hung on the set of the famous TV show Martin.

30 years later and The UMC's are still a hot topic of discussion in music and Hip Hop. In a recent interview, Kanye West shared how excited he was to buy the  'Fruits of Nature' cassette tape with his allowance as a kid, and will.i.am looked mesmerized when he let the world know what a huge fan of the group he is and the influence they had on his career.
